delay from USB camera

I am trying get some idea of the delay between a real world event and the time 
that the computer has access to data recording this event. I am using a 
Phillips USB webcam. Due to this driver and using a USB camera I don't think 
I have access to any timestamp data. Is this correct? Does anyone have any 
other suggestions for getting an idea about the size of this delay.
