Problems getting saa7133 to do anything

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I bought an eVGA Personal Cinema card a while back,
(I acted impulsively, I am kicking myself now). I want
to get it running under linux, since using it under windows
is annoying me to no end.

Philips SAA7133HL for Video Capture In/Out
Philips FQ1236/F TV Tuner

I am running Debian unstable. I doenload kernel 2.6.0-test4
and compiled the saa7130/34 driver (which looks like it has
some support for the 7133) and tried it. It modprobed, but
there were no /dev/video or /dev/video0 devices. I looked
online and did a
mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0
and
ln -s /dev/video0 /dev/video

but xawtv sees nothing at /dev/video

I tried downloading the snapshot of the driver, but when I modprobe
that I get

Linux video capture interface: v1.00
video_buf: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
video_buf: no version magic, tainting kernel.
saa7134: no version magic, tainting kernel.
saa7134: Unknown symbol ir_extract_bits
saa7134: Unknown symbol ir_input_init

Which I can't find any reference to online...

Can somebody point me in the right direction.

Or am I just screwed?
