  I tried compiling the bttv driver "bttv-0.9.11" as per u'r
suggestion. But the following error occurs.

This is same for "bttv-0.9.5". How to rectfy this ?

Depends on the driver. With some drivers (bttv 0.9.x for example) it just works. If the driver doesn't support it there is no way

to do that.
