I do not know if this will help, but I have attached my .xawtv file for you to use. It works fine under RH9 for me. (I have an AIW Radeon 7500.)

I figured out how to change channels with the up and down arrows and
fine tune w/ left and right. I saved a few channels w/ the channel
editor even. So far I have only gotten color right on about two
channels with lots of adjusting and if I went up or down the dial and
come back I get my adjustments aren't saved. Even if I go to another
channel and come back w/out changing contrast or color the channel is
out of adjustment. Is this normal?

I also have a bar of static or parts of the channel image frozen at
the bottom of the screen. How do I adjust this out and then save the
settings? Is there a more friendly frontend to xawtv?
