Hy ppl, I am getting the same problem, but when I change to the bttv v4l module all work fine...
I got that problem with the gnomemeeting also.

Did an update to 4.2.1, which, I suppose is what you referred to, and found
in the log file:

(II) Loading extension XVideo
(II) Loading extension XVideo-MotionCompensation
(II) LoadModule: "freetype"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts/libfreetype.a

but still the same output from 'tvtime':

sdloutput: Can't get a hardware YUY2 overlay surface, giving up.
tvtime: SDL failed to initialize: no video output available.

Am I forgetting something?
