I though it would be hard to get a similar setup going Sont PC9 - Audigy but modprobe the two modules (raw1392 and ohci1394) and it worked, I was stunned ( I know I shouldn't have been) I used dvgrab to get the video of the camera..

Anyone have any experience using the Sony DFW-V500 camera with firewire?

I have an opportunity to get my hands on one, and I'm trying to see
whether it will work with my system. I'm using RH 7.3. It appears that
the modules for firewire (ohci1394, raw1394) are available on my system
via modprobe.

Is it too much to hope that I'll just plug the camera in, and it'll work?
