I threw up some quick rough hacks to
change channel by frequency in
Python, C & a patch for xawtv
at:

   http://techweb.rfa.org/staff/bill

Example:

   channelchanger 775.250 [/dev/video0]
   channelchanger.py 775.250 [/dev/video0]

   v4lctl setfrequency 775.250
   xawtv-remote setfrequency 775.250
