The setup you describe should work fine (though you perhaps have to select ext. Video in xawtv). If it doesn't there is a bug in the card's entry (send "rmmod bttv; insmod bttv _your_options_; dmesg|grep bttv" What exactly is your problem? - Gunther P.S. You don't need btaudio for this.
