Not so shameless.  :-)  The NV* tools are very nice.  But I really do
need the mp1e/rte codec for my CPU (TB Athlon 800Mhz).  mp1e is by far
the only encoder I can get 640x480 NTSC frames out of (with lots of
CPU to spare!).  Have you tried to do any porting to any recent RTE
code?

The latest CVS version has support for rte 0.5... Unfortunately, rte0.5 does not have support for rte0.5 yes ;-) (which is probably why it is still CVS only). rterec should work just fine the moment rte does...
