xawtv full screen problem (dc10+, new kernel)

Hi there,

I used to be able to switch to full screen
mode in xawtv/motv when I had kernel 2.4.0 as
my stable setup.

Since then, I've been running 2.4.10,
2.4.14 and I have just installed 2.4.17
(with the same options as 2.4.0 when possible),
and with none of them I'm able to do full
screen: I just see few lines at the top.
I cannot do more than 352x288 without distortion.
If I try to grab full screen image (J), I get:
  v4l: timeout (got SIGALRM), hardware/driver problem ?
  ioctl: VIDIOSYNC(0): Interrupted system call
and motv hungs until I ctrl-C.

It's true that I have installed lots of
applications (mjpegtools, ffmpeg, ...) and
libraries in the meantime, and I thought I had
upset xawtv. But my old kernel 2.4.0 is still
able to display full screen :-(

Description of my setup:
- Athlon 1 Ghz, 256 MB RAM
- pinnacle DC10plus card
- xawtv 3.66 (also tried 3.64 and 3.4x)
- Zoran ZR36060 + ZR36057/67 MJPEG board driver version 0.9
- v4l1
- XFree86 Version 4.0.1a
- Based on RedHat 7.0 (gcc 2.96)

Has anybody experienced similar problems ? How
could it be solved ?

Any help appreciated,
Manuel
