bttv bugreport (Pinnacle PCTV RAVE)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my Pinnacle systems Studio PCTV RAVE card. At
first it works ok with both the 0.8 and 0.7 driver. Then after some time (a
couple of reboots & days) suddenly the TV-window goes black (the sound
stays). Now if I unload and load the bttv module the computer hangs on load!
Then I can fix it by putting the card in a windows machine and booting. It
will now work again for a number of days, and the scenario repeats itself.

During a successful load of the module the following is logged:

------
Just when the window goes black and the card stop working the following is
logged:
------
Sep 26 23:17:47 amd kernel: bttv0: irq: SCERR risc_count=1e36801c
------

Now when trying to load the module the following is logged, and the machine
hangs hard after this:
------
Sep 23 23:22:18 amd kernel: i2c-core.o: i2c core module
Sep 23 23:22:18 amd kernel: i2c-algo-bit.o: i2c bit algorithm module
Sep 23 23:22:18 amd kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
------

I tried setting triton1=1 The driver prints all the load messages, and then
hangs hard.
Setting vsfx=1 Makes it hangs hard even before logging anything (not even the
i2c things)

If you need more debug-info please specify.

Best regards
Allan
