Quite.  I believe FM stereo has been around for longer than ICs.

Since stereo is merely the encodinf of L+R and L-R (or vice versa, I always
forget), it's quite possible to use analog to to (L+R)+(L-R)=2L and
(L+R)-(L-R)=2R to get the output.
