There used to be sig11 bugs in v4lctl, try to upgrade unless you have
already the latest (3.60) version.  If 3.60 segfaults too, I'd like to
get a stacktrace.

Another (dirty) way is to start xawtv and kill it with ^C then, that
should keep audio enabled.
