You know you're having a bad day when v4lctl repeatedly segfaults on you
:-(

If I try with xawtv or RealProducer running, it precedes this with a
message about /dev/video0 being busy (as I think I expected)

You were suggesting I try v4lct immediately before opening RealProducer
I think?

Is there anything I can try to avoid the segfault? - or is there
anything you want to know about it? (Basically built on an out-of-the
box RedHat 7.1)
