 thanks for the input its a Phillips or forget it..
 Any one know who in the UK is a reseller of the pro version?

With regard to using it as a motion detector that is what I want to use it 
for, I am going to assume you are using the motion.technolust.cx  program?

 The camera will be the eye of  robotic head that is my "watch dog" for the 
porch.
 If any of you have seen the film FX2 and the special effects clown in that a 
friend has a replica in his front porch. When you open the front gate you 
activate it ( it sits slumpped at rest) first it sits up straight  turns to 
look at you. The owner has a camera in the head along with Micro phones in 
the ears and a speaker in the chest The lips move activated by the speaker..
 He had his house  robbed whilst he worked in the back workshop !!! since the 
clown was installed  he sees all that goes on in front. Even someone trying 
to steal the clown. It is all built on a steel Girder  bolted to the concrete 
shelf. !!!!
