	Well, here's the deal. 

	With Hauppauge cards, unless you have one that's weird somehow, the
audio should come automatically from the line-out on the card. You then
have to plug this into the line-in on your sound card. 

	I'd suggest hooking up an audio source to the line-in on the back of
the hauppauge card and switching to the composite video input with your
tv app, so that you're sure you have an audio source, and then
troubleshooting from there. Make sure you haven't plugged the hauppauge
card into the modem audio input on your sound card, for instance.
