I have a Pixelview PlayTV Pro, and this is my /etc/modules.conf:

options bttv card=37
alias char-major-81 bttv
options tuner type=5 
options lirc_gpio gpio_mask=0x1f00 gpio_lock_mask=0x8000 gpio_xor_mask=0 soft_gap=400 sample_rate=12

You do not need any sound module if you connect the lineout of TV tuner
to line-in of sound card.  I've also configured a PlayTV PAK in the
past with the same settings except card=50.

You should try connecting your speaker directly to the sound output of
TV tuner, to make sure the problem is not with the line-in of
soundcard.
