wintv-d question

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

folks, i have recently installed a hauppage wintv-d card
and unfortunately have not been able to get the thing to
work. i am currently just trying to use the analog cable-tv
signal. using xawtv seems to yield nothing but noise.
your help/advise would be greatly appreciated. i have tried
to read all the howtos and fms, but will followup on any
leads provided. following are the details:

1. using debian 2.2

2. kernel 2.2.18pre21

3. i2c-2.5.5 patch applied to kernel per instructions
in i2c-2.5.5/INSTALL for option #3 ([patching kernel).

4. installed bttv-0.7.63 src to ~me/bttv-0.7.63 built it
and installed as kernel modules, overwriting the defaults
   bundled with the 2.2 kernel.

5. inserted modules:

  a. without "type" arg to tuner, tuner not found (tuner type 4):
