tvtime

Somebody on this list pointed me at tvtime, which is a whole lot more
stable than xawtv. I like it.

But I do have a couple of problems.

1. The audio comes in on the kmix slider labeled microphone and is
quite low level, I have to run the volume slider wide open to get
decent room volume. At that point, the kmail newmail notification
notifies the neighbors, not a Good Thing(tm).

2. Its own volume control, via the left-right arrow keys, has no
effect. Niether do any of the volume controls in the kmix bt878
submenu.

Install was at one time rh8.0, with all updates, but some stuff home
built. Like sane, cups, tvtime, grip, etc etc. kde is 3.1.1a built
with konstruct, with some updates, like k3b-010.3

Kernel is 2.6.0-mm1, bttv stuffs compiled in, including oss emulation.

And I have seen someones custom timidity config from a web page I was
on work just fine. Mozilla 1.6 called it and ran it automaticly.
However its a cpu hog on a 1400mhz athlon.

What should I change to effect a fix for this tvtime/audio problem?
