Certainly:

------------------------------------

i2c-algo-bit.o: i2c bit algorithm module version 2.7.0 (20021208)
bttv: driver version 0.7.106 loaded
bttv: using 4 buffers with 2080k (8320k total) for capture
bttv: Host bridge is VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8377 [KT400 AGP] Host Bridge
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 00:0d.0, irq: 17, latency: 32, mmio: 0xeb001000
bttv0: using: BT878( *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC **) [card=0,insmod option]
i2c-algo-bit.o: Adapter: bt848 #0 scl: 0 sda: 0 -- testing...
 i2c-algo-bit.o: bt848 #0 seems to be busy.
bttv: readee error
bttv0: using tuner=-1
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0

------------------------------------

The card certainly is as generic as they come, I guess that readee error isn't
a good sign, but otherwise, it's all greek to me. The card doesn't have a
tuner: it's got composite & s-video in, and s-video out (and one other
connection that defies my mind to identify). Hence I set the tuner options to
-1:

------------------------------------

options bttv card=0 radio=0 bttv_verbose=2 tuner=-1
options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1

------------------------------------
