ADS Technologies Channel Surfer TV + 3D acceleration = no-go

I have an old ADS Technologies Channel Surfer TV I
decided I would give a try on one of my linux machines
given I see it was supported by bttv with video
capture and TV tuner support. I pretty much just want
it for the TV tuner support, though. It has been
years since I used this card, and that was last on
Windows 98 I think. I had to quit using it once I got
a 3D accelerated graphics card, if I recall right. I
believe the support page for the card (which doesn't
exist at all anymore) said it would not work with a 3D
graphics card.

Well here I am in linux and it seems that such is the
case still. If I'm running X in 3D accelerated mode
it will not work--I just get a blue screen. I have an
old nVidia TNT2 Ultra card. I get this blue screen
when using the nvidia drivers from nVidia. However,
when I run X with the built in XFree86 nv driver, it
isn't 3D accelerated and I do get the TV tuner to
work.

So the question is: is there any way at all to use the
TV tuner with this thing w/o having to restart X with
that nv driver rather than keeping my nvidia driver
going? That's quite a pain in the rear to deal with.
Granted, given the tasks that I use this machine for,
I could probably manage ok w/the nv driver from
XFree86, but I would prefer to use the nvidia one and
have some 3D acceleration on my desktop.

Is there any way at all to make this card work with it
still using the nvidia driver? Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks!
