should have worked. What kernel messages do you get?

Then...
Are there mayby some more advanced ways to check that modules connections?

Look at the kernel messages (using dmesg) ...

There is a new snapshot out btw, and that with that one the IR remote
suppport has been moved to another mw dmesgodule (ir-kbd-gpio) which must be
loaded too.

In dmesg generated with snapshot module I found something like that:
ttv0: using: AVerMedia TVPhone [card=6,insmod option]
bttv: readee error
bttv0: Avermedia eeprom[0x0000]: tuner=2 radio:no remote control:no
bttv0: using tuner=5
Then I tied to force remote=1 (That is not described in modinfo).
That works :):
/dev/input/event2
bustype : BUS_PCI
vendor : 0x109e
product : 0x350
version : 1
name : "bttv IR (card=6)"
phys : "pci-0000:00:0f.0/ir0"
bits ev : EV_SYN EV_KEY EV_REP

but :( events 2 gives nothing.
I am not sure - maybe I need some next param gpio_mask for example?
Is that possible to define remte type with other numbers than 1.
