i am having a repeatable (every time i start up real producer) error
which
seems vaguely similar to one i saw described on the video4linux mailing
list
on august 12, 2003 under the heading "Re: oops with osprey 230".
here's a snippet of my boot messages:
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 02:08.0, irq: 3, latency: 64, mmio: 0xf8003000
bttv0: detected: Hauppauge WinTV [card=10], PCI subsystem ID is

bttv0: using: BT878(Hauppauge (bt878)) [card=10,autodetected]
bttv0: Hauppauge/Voodoo msp34xx: reset line init [5]
and here's the oops:

basically, this happens every time i start up real producer or even
just scan
the devices by running "producer -pd". i have repeated this using real
networks producer plus 9.0.1 and with helix dna producer 9.1 and 9.2M6
binary
distributions. i have also tested kernels 2.4.18, 2.4.20, 2.4.21,
2.4.22 (the
oops above is from kernel 2.4.22) with almost identical results.
i have two hauppauge wintv cards installed in a dell optiplex P4
system. both
cards seem to work fine with xawtv.
is there any way to fix this?
