fbtv with thin vertical lines

hello,

i am new to v4l, i have compiled my 2.4.17 kernel with v4l and bttv
support. i tried running fbtv and i get thin vertical lines on the
display.
hardware specs:
cyrix 600MHz
igs5000 video driver
lifeview tuner card
