I've compiled a 2.4.21 kernel with the correct modules enabled (bttv,
videodev, i2c-core, and i2c-algo-bit). Every module loads except for bttv
and when I issue the command "modprobe bttv" I get the following output:
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: init_module: No such
device
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: Hint: insmod errors
can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ
parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.o: insmod bttv failed
The following output appears in syslog:
Sep 21 21:38:00 hackme kernel: bttv: driver version 0.7.104 loaded
Sep 21 21:38:00 hackme kernel: bttv: using 4 buffers with 2080k (8320k
total) for capture
Sep 21 21:38:00 hackme kernel: bttv: Host bridge is PCI device 8086:2570
(Intel Corp.)
Here is my modules.conf:
# Video4Linux
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
alias char-major-90 i2c-algo-bit
options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1
# BTTV
#alias char-major-81 videodev
#alias char-major-81-0 bttv
alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv pll=1 card=63 radio=0 tuner=2 gbuffers=4 bttv_debug=1
bttv_verbose=2
options tuner type=2
My card is an ATI TV Wonder which corresponds to the "card=63" option. Any
ideas?
