Just curious why Red Hat doesn't just make this part of its distro? With
the interest from LOTR in using Linux for graphics rendering and other
media work, having a large block of RAM available to applications ought to
be standard. Or at least an easy option to switch on.

Not sure I know enough about kernel hacking at this point to do a vanilla
distro yet. I just need to get this promised app working for a friend.
