The docs with the lastest bttv-9.something says it need v4l2, and it seems that v4l2 is yet another kernel patch and that needs something else to the point of being in a patch of nettles. :-) So I haven't even tried to configure it. Besides, the last 2 times I was playing with it this time of the night, it locked me machine up so hard I had to use the hardware reset button. Since amanda was in the middle of her run, I had to flush what was left to a fresh tape, about 3 hours worth. Someday I'll learn that one should not play with beta software that might crash you while running backups. The cleanup is messy, an e2fsk on a 60Gb drive is prolly 20 minutes right there. But, no bad kharma this time. -- Cheers, Gene AMD K6-III@500mhz 320M Athlon1600XP@1400mhz 512M 99.26% setiathome rank, not too shabby for a WV hillbilly Yahoo.com attornies please note, additions to this message by Gene Heskett are: Copyright 2003 by Maurice Eugene Heskett, all rights reserved.
