Hi!

I had the same problem with mencoder and saa7134, try sound recording
through your soundcard, ie. plug your tvcard's audio-out to the line-in
of your soundcard. A few months ago it helped me, but now with the new
v4l2 interface I get no sound at all with mencoder :(
