Laserdisc _is_ an analog medium based on composite video - the video (complete with color subcarrier and up to four audio subcarriers) FM modulates a carrier, and the resulting signal is the pattern of pits on the disc. Some players do have an SPDIF output for the digital audio present on some later discs.
