Hmm that sounds like a bug in those apps.  Even 8 frames isn't very
much.  Unless the app does some expencive processing on the images and
the box is slow much more should be possible.

xawtv doesn't manage it to process and re-queue the buffers fast
enought with just two ones.  Tree buffers should work fine through.
