Problems with a PCTV pro

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Dear all,

I've already posted on the list last week concerning problems to use a
recent model of Pinnacle PCTV Pro.
Philippe Cizaire and Balazs Lengyak suggested that I should go with bttv
0.7.106. I'm using a debian testing systems with a vanilla 2.4.20 kernel.

That's what I did during the week-end. I can now listen to radio without
any problem. The settings I used are card=39 (52 seems to work) and
tuner=33, radio=1

However I'm still having problems with TV. Images are considerably
distorted. At the beginning I suspected a problem with the TV signal
itself, since I live in a mountain area, where it is very common to have
"ghosts" on image due to multiple reflections of signal, which sometimes
make hard life for tuners.
To be sure, I tried the tuner output of a PAL camera, where I observed
the same phenomenon.

What kind of debugging, component references, information should I post
on the list to make some progress with this annoying problem.
I should mention that the box on which is installed the card is not
mine, so I do not have a permanent access to it and my feedback may be
delayed.

Thanks in advance for any information,

Frederic Tronel.
