I have an identical card, an identical system and an identical problem.
I note that we both live in the UK - could that be significant?
Some other points:
I am driving the speakers directly from the card, so this rules out linux
sound problems.
There are no problems in windows.
Updating bttv from 0.7.106 to 0.9.8 made no difference.
Updating from 0.7.96 to 0.7.106 gave me working video, so we are making some
progress.
I can get some sound, by fine tuning channel SE1 I can receive FM radio!

Hoping to receive words of wisdom soon

Barry
