RE: AverTV Stereo tuning problems

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I just put the following in my modules.conf and it worked great.

options bttv vsfx=1 card=41 gbuffers=32 audiomux=0xff44e

You may not need the vsxf option is for a PCI bus problem I had and you may
not need this. I use the buffers because I do a lot of capturing. The
audiomux line is the one that I think you need in yours. Also I was getting
IRQ timeouts with the card set to 13. When I set it to 41 it worked perfect.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Subject: AverTV Stereo tuning problems

I have an AverTV Stereo card (BT878), which works pretty well, but has
weird tuning problems. about 80% of channels come in fine. The other
20% have perfect video, but no audio. Tuning with xawtv, I can sometimes
get the audio to come in, but the picture will be completely garbled, and
in some cases, I can't get the audio no matter how much tuning I do.
using us-cable-hrc (instead of us-cable) will get more of the channels
audio, but again, most of the video is incorrectly tuned, and tweaking
the tuning in xawtv doesn't seem to help.

I have tried using auto, mono, lang1, and lang2 audio channels, but this
has not helped.

In windows, everything work perfectly, and it generates a binary freq.tbl
file which I assume has the channel tuning info in it, but I dn't know
how to read this file.

I am using card=13 and tuner=2

I use the loopback audio-cable, as I don't think this card has a usable
audio decoder (at least tvaudio can't find one)

As I said, it is pretty weird, because the no-audio condition only seems
to happen on random stations. they aren't grouped together or anything.

Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks,
.Geoff
