YUV?

Hi,

I've been playing with raw (uncompressed) output from the PVR-250. The
format is YUV... ish. Sort of halfway between planar and macroblock.

The planes are separated (well, at least the Y plane is) but it isn't linear;
the first 720 bytes are not the first scan line. Every 256 bytes is a 16x16
matrix oriented the same as the output frame.

Sounds like an intermediary format between MPEG and YUV.

Does this format sound familiar?
If so, does anybody support it out of the box?
Should we convert it to some other planar or packed format?

Conversion doesn't look all that difficult, but it would be a load on the
processor that I'd like to avoid if possible.

Thanks,
John
