0.9.6 problem

I am having trouble installing the 0.9.6 drivers.

I have tried to "make", "make install", but when the system starts up it loads the 0.7 driver instead.

If I go to the 0.9.6 source directory and run "./update", the old driver is removed, and the 0.9.6 driver is loaded instead. I do not understand how to make this the default behaviour.

from /var/log/messages:
Feb 23 10:30:25 rosberg kernel: bttv: driver version 0.7.105 loaded

and after I run "./update"
Feb 23 10:31:43 rosberg kernel: bttv: driver version 0.9.6 loaded

The drivers in "/lib/modules/2.4.20-v4l2/kernel/drivers/media/video/" seem to be the old ones, however, the new drivers are in "/lib/modules/2.4.20-v4l2/v4l2/".

Where am I going wrong?

Paul.
