Christian Boon <cboon@xxxxxxxxxxxx> escreveu: Actually it is, but you need two cameras to recover de depth information, or at least you need to introduce the depth information somehow. For that you need also to calibrate the camera, that is, to find it intrisic and extrisic parameters. There are some good tutorials on the subject, and it is not so trivial for who is not familiar with projective geometry. Here I put some links http://www.cse.iitd.ernet.in/~suban/vision/geometry/ http://www.esat.kuleuven.ac.be/~pollefey/tutorial/ A good book on de the subject is "Three Dimensional Computer Vision" written by Olivier Faugeras, MIT Press [ ]'s Rodrigo Guerra > Hello, > > is it possible with linux and an webcam to determine how big an object in front of the camera is by counting the amount of pixels of the object or something like that? > > thanks in advance, > > Chris --
