If you have anything below the 9100, you can use the open source dri drivers or XiG as well. I believe the XiG Summit Desktop might support video capture with Radeons, but they don't support anything newer than RV250 (9000s) chips at this time. Ultimately, AIW cards are such a strange beast that they are hard to get working under Linux. If I were to purchase a new Radeon, I wouldn't bother paying for the AIW and just add a TV-Wonder or Similar Capture card which are fully supported under Linux.
