Obviously I have been a dunce and bought the wrong card. What card do people have working. All I want to do is plug in a Sony DVR (via s-video) or the playback from a VCR, and capture the playback into an MPEG file. I don't mind buying another if I can be reasonable sure this will work. Also, how do you ascertain what tuner you are using, is it a chip on the card or is it an external device that the card is connected to (e.g. the digital cable boxes provided by the cable outfits in the US). In fact ho do you confirm all the chip sets needed to determine which driver you need. I know these are basic questions, buy I don't yet really get this paradigm and it is silly to pretend I understand when I don't. Many thanks for the kind responses, I just need a few clues. Michael. Can someone please advise where to find drivers for this card? I apologize if I am being a dunce, but I have looked over the various v4l sites I know of and it isn't obvious to me where I need to go. If anyone has this working and can outline the steps, I would be ecstatic...
