I can run xawtv, but it is black and white (and when that window is active, my entire desktop is b/w... and I get this error message: # xawtv This is xawtv-3.73 running on Linux/i686 (2.4.18-3custom) switching visual (0x2e) WARNING: No DGA support available for this display. /dev/video0 [v4l2]: no overlay support v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway # I'm using an ISA videum AV capture card (using driver videum-20020910.tgz) videodevX-20020330.tgz xawtv_3.82.tar.gz (despite what running the program reports !?) And my video card has only 1Meg of memory, so has only 8bit color depth, if that's relevant... (I think I saw something somewhere about some of the apps not working in 256 colors). To be honest, I want to use this machine without a display at all, just to serve pics/streams to other machines, so I hope it doesn't matter. running streamer can capture a single frame jpg, and then using xview, my machine reports that it is converting it from 710 colors to 256. So I think the capture card is capturing images in more than 256 colors... Thanks, Joe __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
