I've had the 'flashing greens' too. The application I used was vic. I think it uses the V4L1 interface (definitely doesn't use streaming capture from V4L2). What I did notice thou was that the streaming capture from V4L2 did dump frames correctly (wrote a small test app), while a couple of other applications had the 'greens'. I don't know much about v4l1, but think it might be quicker (and safer) to forward port vic to use v4l2. -Greg ] -----Original Message----- ] From: video4linux-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx ] [mailto:video4linux-list-admin@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Wan Tat Chee ] Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 6:01 PM ] To: video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx ] Subject: Re: Recording with SAA7134 card ] ] ] Gerd, ] ] I tried with the new v4l2 + saa7134 modules (Dec 18), and it ] still has the same problems described previously (xawtv+v4l2 ] in B/W, mplayer with alternating green screen). ] ] I recompiled xawtv 3.81 just to be safe. ] ] The only difference is that xawtv + v4l1 can select the norm. ] However, the display is blank (black screen) whether in ] overlay or grabdisplay mode. ] ] mplayer still gives the invalid ioctl error when attempting ] to set the norm (I assume that I don't have to recompile mplayer). ] ] T.C. ] ] ---- ] Wan Tat Chee (Lecturer) ] School of Computer Science, Univ.
