I am trying to upgrade my driver version of bttv to the .9.2 version because of a change in my webcam program (from camserv to camsource (both .sf.net projects)) At any rate, I have patched the linux 2.4.19 kernel source to 2.4.20 (or, 2.4.19-rc4, I believe) and then applied the large patch(patch-2.4.20-rc4-kraxel.gz) from the patches/2.4 directory on the bytesex.org website. Compiled, installed, booted to the new kernel. The bttv-0.9.2 compiled successfully, and the make install works, but gives a depmod error. So when I try to insmod, I get: Using /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_read_stop /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_queue_is_busy /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_streamon /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_dma_pci_sync /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_iolock /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol i2c_bit_add_bus_Rsmp_d53ef5ba /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_querybuf /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_dqbuf /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol i2c_master_recv_Rsmp_709ba864 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_mmap_setup /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_queue_init /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_poll_stream /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_waiton /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol v4l2_type_names_Rsmp_57b02a20 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_dma_pci_unmap /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_reqbufs /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_read_one /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol v4l2_ioctl_names_Rsmp_1cfb1467 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_dma_free /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol v4l2_video_std_construct_Rsmp_33b3b664 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_mmap_mapper /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol v4l2_field_names_Rsmp_a021ef50 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol i2c_master_send_Rsmp_06fe6d88 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol video_unregister_device_Rsmp_e682bb58 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol video_register_device_Rsmp_7edbc369 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_qbuf /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol i2c_bit_del_bus_Rsmp_2e7322be /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol video_usercopy_Rsmp_fdfbf935 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_read_stream /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol mod_firmware_load_Rsmp_39e3dd23 /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_streamoff /lib/modules/2.4.20/v4l2/bttv.o: unresolved symbol videobuf_alloc I assume that I am mising a patch or something, but I have tried putting in all the patches from the patch/2.4 directory (even the SCSI changer?). So: Version: Bttv-.0.9.2 Hardware: Generic BT848 w/ no tuner Insmod messages: (see above) Problem: bttv module does not load Thanks! /stm Seth Thornberry http://chaos.doesntexist.com/~stm/
