Problems capturing PAL video

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all!

The system:
kernel 2.4.18-4GB on Suse 8.0
bttv driver 0.7.91
( the same result on RedHat 8.0 with 2.4.18, but I don't remember the version
of the bttv driver there - the one that is shipped with RedHat 8.0)
Capture card - ProVideo PV-143, no tuner, capturing only.

The problem:
I connect a PAL camera and I tried to use xawtv, but the image I see if I set
the norm to PAL is only garbage. If I change the norm to PAL-NC i see a good
image but no colors, B&W only. All other norms don't give anything good
either.
If I use the same card and camera under Windows I use PAL-B, if this info can
help someone to pinpoint the problem.

Any ideas how can I make it work? I'm quite new to Linux, so if I don't
provide some important information here, that you guys may need to make any
conclusion, it is only because I don't know it is important...

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Dimitar
