Martin's right, it's a Philips kind-a-thingy chipset, not Brooktree. As I am using Slackware 8 with a 2.4 kernel, I don't know whether I can get a driver for it. If I do, V4L2 has a version for 2.4 kernels, so in theory I should be ok.... right? I've checked Mark Sutton's help file, but it talks about 2.2 kernels and below. The same goes for the k-team website. I've also checked what Charlie told me, but since I have excellent recommendations for the Omnimedia P1S, I'm reluctant to look for something else. And it's a good guarantee to have a Meteor (even a cloned one). BTW, when I asked about drivers, etc., Omnimedia gave me the address for this list, as well as the meteor-users list (almost dead). Go figure...
