xawtv-<ver>/contrib/frequencies-japan is not
very authoritative and could probably be wrong.

Why Should channels 7 and 8 only be 4 MHz apart?

All websites checked show constant 6 MHz spacing
e.g. http://hotel04.ausys.se/pausch/tv/tv.html#tvchan
Japanese VHF channels
Channel Band limits Carriers
                             Video Audio
J1 90 96 91.25 95.75
J2 96 102 97.25 101.75
J3 102 108 103.25 107.75
J4 170 176 171.25 175.75
J5 176 182 177.25 181.75
J6 182 188 183.25 187.75
J7 188 192 189.25 193.75 <-- xawtv error, Audio column instead of Video below?
J8 192 200 195.25 199.75
J9 200 206 201.25 205.75
J10 206 212 207.25 211.75
J11 212 218 213.25 217.75
J12 218 226 219.25 223.75

Of course the majority of websites could be in error, too.
In fact, the table above has an anomaly in the band limits for J7/J8, too !?
Any official source for jp channel-to-frequency mapping?

Regards, Gunther
