I dont think you understand my question. Linux does NOT support any pcmcia sound devices. The closest thing to a pcmcia sound card that is supported is the winnov videumcam traveler (http://www.winnov.com/products/collaboration/vidcamtraveler.htm). Since this is primarily a video camera, it uses the V4L2 API. So if all I have is V4L2, can I get a cd quality audio stream input? Once again, thanks. rez ----- Original Message ----- From: "exile" <exile@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, June 30, 2002 2:13 AM Subject: Re: audio and v4l2 > > From: "reza" <rezman@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > >I was wondering if its possible to get an audio only input from the V4L2 API. I am currently using the winnov vidium camera (with a pcmcia interface), and unfortantly, the drivers only support V4L2. I want to try and use this setup to input cd quality audio for one of my programs. Since this camera is the only linux supported multimedia device which also has a mic input, this is really my only choice. Any help is apperciated. > > http://www.opensound.com/ > http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Sound-HOWTO/ > http://www.alsa-project.org/ > > You can do almost every sound card in the book. > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Video4linux-list mailing list > Video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list >
