Audio problems with ATI TV-Wonder VE (it won't shut off!!)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I've loaded bttv.o as a module, and videodev is built into the kernel.
This is turn loads tuner.o.

The picture and sound come up fine. The problem is, the sound never goes
off!! As soon as I modprobe the bttv module (and tuner.o is
automatically inserted), the sound comes on, even before I start up any
TV viewing program.

This is with kernel 2.4.18 using Alsa 0.5.12 with OSS emulation on a SB
128PCI card. I don't think that alsa has anything to do with it.

I tried this in XawTV. It seems like there is no control over the sound
output at all. When I press mute in XawTV, the sound still stays on.
The only way to kill the sound is to 'modprobe -r' the bttv module.

I've connected the audio cable from the output of the TV Wonder card to
the line-in of the sound card. Any suggestions !!!

Thanks,
Steve
