Re: avertv stereo and RH 7.3

Thanks Bill,

I was looking at one of your previos mails when I tried tuner=28.

I did get the card working finally (actually it was working fine all along). I remembered that when using Xine to view movies, I needed to use Xshm instead of xv due to compatibility issues with my X server for the S3 savage 4 video card. So I read the xawtv man page a bit closer and ran it with the -noxv switch. Suddenly the video was clear.

It's amazing what you can do when you RTFM.

So it turns out that this card works fine with the auto detected card=13, tuner=2.

The daughter board has "SONY" printed on it and nothing else. No hints as to it's function but I don't see anything like it on pictures of other avermedia cards.

tda9800t is probably handling your audio control.

Your current Tuner setup is certainly asking for PAL
(I use the same, and I'm in Europe)

Tuner:
     type=28 - LG PAL_BG+FM (TPI8PSB01D)

Look for a number similar to this TPI8PSB01D on your
tuner (probably barely readable under a label without taking
it off) and find out the appropriate tuner in CARDLIST.

You can also check your kernel version, patches, xawtv, bttv,
etc., but most likely using PAL instead of NTSC is your big
headache.

No idea. What does it say on it?
