How to get nVideo TV-Out working

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I have a question about nVidia TV-Out. Is it possible to set it up so that the framebuffer device uses one section of framebuffer memory for the normal console on the monitor, and another memory area for the TV-Out. I know that under MS Windows XP it is possible to run two independent screens, one on TV and one on Monitor. I would like to duplicate this in Linux. I have not found much about TV-Out for nVidia, but I have found one utility which is used in X-Windows to enable output on the TV. But this software sets it up so that both monitors have the same framebuffer, and the same resolution. I have the sourcecode for the bugger and will soon look at the code to reverse engineer what they did. I was hoping someone had already accomplished this and could tell me what to do. I would like to display the TV on the TV and keep the computer monitor clear for status and display functions. I am working on a new TV/Home control system and need this feature to work similar to the implementation on Windows.

Thank you,
