BTTV / Kernel / V4L Versions???

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

 I am using RH 2.4.18-3 (currently) on a P4 1.6 w/512MB ram.

I am going to use (2) PV148 (4 BT878 chips on each board) for
 a total of
8 inputs. I will be capturing still images every 2 seconds with
streamer, and processing the pictures for text overlay with another
program that is undecided. I was wondering if some recommendations on
kernel / bttv / v4l could be made.

I know I must use developmental kernels (at least patches) for v4l2
support as well as standard v4l support with both 7.93 and
 8.41 versions
 of the bTTV driver.

Stability is more of my main concern here, but the reviews
 are mixed on
which bttv driver works best for some people.

 Any recommendations would be appreciated.

 Thanks,

 Greg Oliver
