All USB cameras suck.

For $100 you won't get a decent setup. $40 will get you a random USB
camera like the cpia or ov511 stuff. They work they are good for sending
funny video clips to people or conferencing. If you want to do
anything serious you either want firewire+dvcam or a good quality second
hand composite video camera and a bttv card
